Taken at a recent Fall Photo Shoot. This adorable family (both inside and out) arrived on time for their photo shoot. The family was so beautiful, including the darling daughter…..Too much fun. I loved her choice in wardrobe as layers add great texture and depth to the photos. Her scarf was so cute, I just had to go out and buy one for myself. Great choice!

These boys were such troopers. Each outdoor photo shoot requires planning for the optimal conditions. In this case, we were trying for late afternoon sun, no wind, and not scorching hot. It all came together however, one hazard presented itself. There were mosquitos everywhere. These little guys were so great. They did there best to ignore the mosquitos and to proceed with the unruly conditions. Quite frankly if I were them, I would have gone on strike. But, they perservered and we got some great shots. Maybe the ice cream they were promised after the shoot had something to do with it!! Yes, if you were wondering, I did photoshop out the mosquitos. Thanks kids for doing such a great job.

I was thrilled to learn today that one of my photographs was selected for cover of the May 2009 issue of “Me: In Focus” magazine. Congratulations to Marla and Rachel the wonderful duo pictured on the cover. Their amazing Mondel Bread is a big hit. I did all the photography for their website (www.marlasmondels.com). To learn more about them and their terrific products check out the article at www.meinfocusmag.com.

What do eight beautiful fashion models and over two hundred amazing women have in common? They all came out to support the Maryville Crisis Nursery at Sunset Ridge Country Club in Northfield, today. A great time was had by all at the fourth annual Shower of Hope for Maryville Academy’s Crisis Nursery. This year’s event featured a fabulous marketplace, terrific speakers, and an outstanding fashion show by neapolitan ®.

A great time was had by all last night at the BJWC (Barrington Junior Women’s Club) spring fundraising event. This fantastic event was held to raise funds for WINGS (Women In Need Growing Stronger) and the Cynthia L. Bischof Memorial Foundation. Hundreds of local businesses including yours truly donated their time and/or services to ensure a successful evening filled with fun, camaraderie and fundraising. I pitched in by taking photographs of the event.

Yesterday was President’s day so the kids had the day off. I decided I too would put the camera down for the day. I tried my best to stay away from the computer and the phone and the camera. Just tried to concentrate on having fun with the kids. Wouldn’t you know it, this little charmer said “Please Mrs. Gruener take my picture please.” How could I resist?
